RAW saw troublehouse bring a much more modern, physical production to Manchester’s theatre scene. The play’s themes of gang violence, family and belonging were brought to life for the opening week in June upon the stone slabbed flooring of the Joshua Brooks basement. David Crowley’s use of heavy, rhythmic, industrial music highlighted and intensified the scenes of violence and retribution in the intimate theatre space. The production proved to be the most challenging in troublehouse’s history and yet the reviews which followed were among the best we’ve received.
