troublehouse theatre was formed in the Spring of 2014 by Northern born actors Rick Bithell and Heather Carroll. They graduated together from the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts North where they trained together as part of the school’s first post-graduate class.
Upon graduating, Rick and Heather moved to Manchester and quickly became involved in its theatrical scene. Since then both have gone on to work extensively in theatre, TV and film across the U.K. Alongside acting both Rick and Heather have worked independently with a number of regional theatres and theatre companies in the North West, directing in-house productions and tutoring their drama workshops.
troublehouse work hard to deliver site-specific, thought provoking theatre at an affordable price to its audiences. Venues for their work include a warehouse in Manchester City Centre and a derelict council house in Bolton.
“We’re both proud Northerners who want to nurture the growing theatrical buzz that’s in Manchester, and indeed the North, right now”. – Heather & Rick
