troublehouse theatre was formed in the Spring of 2014 by Northern born actors Rick Bithell and Heather Carroll. They first met at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts North in Wigan where they trained together as part of the school’s first post-graduate class.
Upon graduating, Rick and Heather moved to Manchester and quickly became involved in its theatrical scene. Their passion for naturalistic performance and their eagerness to put what they had learnt at ALRA into practice led to the creation of troublehouse theatre: a company that strives to bridge the gap between professional and fringe theatre in the North West.
troublehouse work hard to provide audiences with professional quality theatre, at an affordable price, in venues other than established theatre spaces and to promote new talent and new writing in the North.
“We’re both proud Northerners who want to nurture the growing theatrical buzz that’s in Manchester, and indeed the North, right now”. – Heather & Rick
